She says: “Throughout my life, and especially during my adolescence, I've watched people close to me succumb to addiction. Too many people, often with shattering and far-reaching consequences. I've never written about my experiences or the effect addiction has had on me except through fiction. This bio statement is my first attempt. And maybe it will lead to further efforts… “Had a Dad,” the story you will find here, is also fiction, though it was stirred by trying to understand the circumstances leading up to the drug use of a particular person. It is strictly imaginative, however. The truth lies with him.”
